Carolyn Ackerman Ed.D MS RN CHPN is from Arvada, Colorado and has almost 40 years of experience in home health care and hospice. She actually discovered our Nurse on the Move feature in a recent article in Home Healthcare Now magazine titled: Nurse on the Move: Lisa Gorski and he or she thought, “Well… why not [me]?”
I had the chance to talk together with her over the phone and discover why she thought she could be a superb candidate, and I’m so glad she reached out to us at NursingCenter. In addition to being a registered nurse, Ackerman can be an adjunct professor at Regis University in Denver and is extremely involved in interdisciplinary end-of-life simulations.
Ackerman recently graduated from Creighton University with a PhD in Interdisciplinary Education. She created a board game concerning the end of life by which participants tackle the role of a patient making decisions related to an incurable disease.
