Educational scholarship has been defined as “an umbrella term which will encompass each research and innovation in health professions education.
Criteria based on input from 52 health professions educators from 20 organizations in 4 countries.
Social Media-Based Scholarships in Health Professions Education must:
- Be original
- Advancing health professions education based on theory, research and best practices
- Archive and distribute
- Provide the health professions education community with the chance to comment and supply feedback in a transparent way that informs broader discussion
: Social media-based research will be revolutionary and original work that builds on existing theory. However, this requires a digital platform that permits for feedback from the broader educational community. However, not all social media activities meet the standards of the scholarship. Please do not forget that social media-based scholarship is a legitimate academic pursuit.
