DNP Role Explained, Discharge Readiness Assessment: Highlights in our February issue
The February issue With ALL is live now. Here are some highlights.
In this issue (CE credit available), “Nurses in the fight to end food insecurity: an integrated review” synthesizes and analyzes nurse-led research findings that address food insecurity, identifying key interventions and outcomes across health care settings and communities.

“Assessing readiness for discharge and factors influencing patients with aortic dissection: a cross-sectional study” is an article (open access). The authors note that this study “showed that patients with aortic dissection generally achieved discharge readiness on the lower end of the moderate range, indicating a necessity for improvement. It is imperative that health care providers emphasize pre-discharge patient education and develop and implement personalized discharge plans.”
The second article in our February issue reads:Exploring aspects influencing bowel preparation for colonoscopy: a meta-analysis” According to the authors, “Health care providers, including nurses, should consider these determinants of bowel preparation effectiveness and implement appropriate and timely interventions to improve patient education and care.”
Our article this month can also be “A mountain model for evidence-based program evaluation and policy evaluation” This model “offers a strong and versatile framework for guiding nurses through EBPQI [evidence-based practice quality improvement] initiatives, program evaluations and policy-oriented projects. It combines research foundations and high-quality evidence with methodologies to offer a comprehensive, systematic approach to achieving significant, scalable improvements in health care and education.

They also advocate for a rigorous clarification amongst all stakeholders of the usually misleading language used to speak concerning the DNP role.
