Chief Nursing Officer Dr. Anne Woods presents on a worldwide stage

This week, Dr. Anne Dabrow Woods, chief nursing officer of Wolters Kluwer Health Learning, Research, and Practice, presented Australian College of Nursing (ACN) 2018 National Nursing Forum, a signature leadership and academic event held on the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. This yr’s theme was ‘Diversity and Difference’ and included sessions on health inequalities and creating change, in addition to tracks including sessions on information and digital technology, policy and practice and frontiers (crossing boundaries).
In her keynote address, Dr. Woods touched on today’s challenges in global health care and the importance of using the perfect available evidence and technology to enhance practice, patient outcomes and global health.
Dr. Woods has been a practicing nurse for over 34 years and a registered nurse since 1998. Dr. Woods’ experience includes implementing evidence into practice to enhance workflow and nursing practice in critical care and first care settings. She practices every weekend as a Penn Medicine critical care nurse at Chester County Hospital and likewise serves as an adjunct professor within the graduate nursing program at Drexel University and teaches nursing students.
There is little question that Dr. Woods’ expertise is welcomed and appreciated by all who’ve the privilege of learning from her.
And it’s no surprise that the goals of the nursing occupation across Australia will not be that different from those here within the United States.
Sharing our goals and objectives, in addition to how we’ll achieve them, is vital to learning and developing as individual nurses and as knowledgeable group. We thank ACN and Dr. Woods for meeting challenges, sharing opportunities, and prioritizing issues to maneuver nursing forward. AND
