Supporting Family Caregivers

Did you realize…? offers a vital collection of evidence-based resources that will be utilized by nurses and other health care professionals who look after older people. This series of articles was published as a print complement and won the 2018 ASHPE Bronze Award for Best Special Supplement. Each article provides nurses with evidence on what and easy methods to teach family caregivers; features a ‘Tips for Family Carers’ fact sheet; and links to step-by-step instructional videos for the caregiver. Continuing education loans are also available.

Covers topics similar to stoma care, fall prevention, wound care, medication administration, and more. As nurses, we all know easy methods to meet the needs of our patients, but much of their care falls to relations. Family caregivers are essential members of the health care team; we must work together to fulfill the needs of our patients and their family members. Enjoy them and share them resources to provide help to and your colleagues educate family caregivers.

We are pleased to share this collection of articles and videos, produced in partnership with the AARP Public Policy Institute and the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing on the University of California, Davis. we proceed to work with AARP and the Home Alone Alliance to supply one other series of articles and videos that can give attention to managing the urinary incontinence and dietary needs of older adults. These articles and videos shall be added to the gathering as they’re created, so remember to check back often!
