Operational Update: Mpox Response, Resources and Process Updates

In this edition of the CCM Operational Update, PR, LFA and other partners within the country can find information on responding to mpox through Global Fund financing.
Due to the threat to public health declarations According to information provided by the Africa CDC and WHO on mpox, countries receiving HIV grants and C19RM funds can use the funds to support eligible interventions to stop the spread of the virus.
Activities which may be supported include strengthening systems for basic prevention, early detection and response functions, including disease surveillance, laboratory capability, community engagement and workforce expansion. In addition, this update includes information on the multi-country request for proposals, information sessions on mpox and risk management, and an updated list of documents and guidance supporting the implementation of Global Fund grants, including on the reporting process (implementation oversight).
The Global Fund will proceed to support country partners within the fight against HIV, TB and malaria, and in strengthening health systems, and responding to emergencies, because it did during COVID-19 and now with mpox.
