Victoria Cuomo, MSN, FNP-BC, has never seen nursing as only her life. As a registered nurse, a family nurse certified by the management board and a dedicated nursing instructor in New York Institute of Technology (New York Tech), Cuomo brings a deep passion, clinical knowledge and mother’s care spokes to every class, each patient meeting and each lesson he passes.

Daily Nurse proudly mentioned Victoria Cuomo with our nurses of the week for the extraordinary dedication of nursing education, mother’s health and mental health and the event of future nurses through teaching based on evidence.

Care heritage

The Cuomo nursing path was shaped early by her mother, a childbirth nurse, whose significant stories about birth, compassion and family care caused the interest of Cuomo’s health and newborns. “Care for women and families is extremely satisfying,” he says, adding that she can also be a deeply passionate of mother’s mental health-often cleaned aspect of care.

Nurse. Pedagogue. Innovator.

From the moment of joining New York Tech in 2021, Cuomo taught nursing Therapeutics II: Clinical and Transcultural Nursing III: Health of the mother and family of the mother. While he teaches in textbooks, Cuomo assures that her students will receive greater than just academic knowledge. He introduces lessons taken from real clinical experience-how trust in instincts, deep listening to patients and adapting to evolving care environments.

Cuomo also helps to shape how future nurses are trained. Currently, he conducts a research project with students to evaluate how delivery simulations at Ferrara Center for Clinical Safety and Simulation patients could also be more influential. He hopes that the discoveries will directly inform the curriculum at New York Tech.

Raising nursing education within the postpandemic world

Cuomo believes that modern nursing requires greater than clinical skills – requires technological liquidity, flexibility and important considering. “There is a quick integration of technology with the world of health professions, for which students must be prepared for use in their daily practice,” he says. Along with the growing role of teeth and artificial intelligence in healthcare, he knows that teachers must evolve next to the industry.

But through the evolution of nursing, the guts of the career stays unchanged. “Every patient’s interaction is an opportunity to learn and build a connection,” Cuomo wonders. “Never lose sight of man and a family behind the diagnosis.”

They are still learning, all the time leading

In an actual nurse, Cuomo is conducting an example. Inspiring the following generation of guardians, he also continues his nursing doctor on the University of Quinnipiac, proving that one of the best nurses are students throughout their lives. “My students show me that innovation and raising nursing as a profession come from curiosity and courage to challenge the status quo,” he says.

Regardless of whether he conducts a student through their first clinical skills or support them on the diploma stage, Victoria Cuomo reminds us of how excellent nursing-and great educators of nurses-such as: compassionate, future and infinitely involved.
