Dawn Daley leads with a heart, heals with perfection

This week we honored Dawn Daley, RN, BSN, PCCN, nurses The health of the Holy Cross In Florida, as our week nurse. With over thirty years of service within the Holy Cross, Daley became a very important presence within the intermediate care department (IMC). He approaches all this with a novel combination of compassion, strength and dedication.
“Dawn goes beyond everything he does, showing real sacrifice, compassion and perfection in nursing,” says Kimone Perry, IMC manager.
Daliy’s leadership goes beyond clinical conditions. The feeling generally known as the “mother Bear” of the person offers constant support for patients, families and colleagues. Regardless of whether he comforts a restless member of the family or runs a brand new nurse through the first week, her presence is uplifting and inspiring.
“He is our mother and pillar of support,” adds Perry. “It provides comfort and providing the surrounding people, creating a work environment that is both efficient and uplifting.”
Daley began a nursing profession in St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. She spent seven years as a registered nurse before joining Holy Cross Health. Over the past 32 years, she has played various roles within the hospital, but her basic values have remained unchanged: leading with heart, work with a goal and pursuit of perfection.
“In addition to clinical skills, Dawn is a real rock star in every respect,” says Perry. “Her involvement in the nursing team is incomparable, and her actions consistently reflect the highest standards of our profession.”
Daley has a bachelor’s degree in nursing on the University of Phoenix and a nursing diploma from St. Elizabeth Health Center School of Nursing. She also studied at Youngstown State University. Her educational journey and careers show her deep commitment to learning throughout her life and improving the standard of care.
